8a.m Coffee smells gooooood! Great way to start the day. Up next, I'm checking my email to see if there are updates about my patients.9.a.m I'll be running my rehab program for about 3 hours. It’s very rewarding – I’m conducting activities to help patients learn skills for living and working in their community.12p.m Time for a break from the program. Hmm... I’m thinking of squeezing in an individual session with one of my patients later, hope I’ll have the time.1.30p.m Great! Got that individual session done. Now I'll run another 2 hour program, but this time, it’s focused more on patients socialising and supporting one another through group activities. This is going to be fun!2.30p.m Talk about squeezing in, I’m going for another cup of coffee haha.3.30p.m Program’s done. Everybody looks happy, they really enjoyed the session. Nice feeling to have now that I have to do some paperwork and reports... but it's not really bad :)4.30p.m Paperwork’s done! Actually it’s a respite since I spend most of my day NOT at my desk. Back in the office, I can talk or even shout across the cubicles to my colleagues about anything from patient care to the best makan places. It’s great since it reminds me that what I do is a team effort, and I'm not alone.5p.m I’ve just been told I’ll be giving a talk on anger management to a company next week. Then next week after, another talk at a school about using music in therapy. Got to prepare for that.In the meantime, off I go to my batik painting classes! Bye for now. |
